Adolescence and Dependence

For many people, adolescent years are years that are filled with physical and psychological ups and downs. There are so many changes that occur in these years that it may be quite uncomfortable for a lot of young people. This is when a lot of folks proceed through their uncomfortable phases, a phase where they arent confident where they’re going and where they fit in, along with a stage that can be characterised by rebellion. Some adolescents undergo a period of rebellion, acting away in different ways.

It’s in the teen years that we start to grow more independent. Our hormones stop in because naturally it’s time for you to start functioning on our own. Of course, in society we wait a bit longer to fully be on the own, but we still begin to obtain more autonomy. This leads plenty of teenagers to feel like they want to experience things they havent experienced before, they want to form their own views and research what exists rather than acquiescing to what mother and father say and let them know all to. Many times, teens choose to rebel and have their own experiences. These experiences might contain alcohol and medications.

It is described in television and movies constantly and we observe it in real life all the time, teens getting drunk, trying medicines, and going to parties. It will happen in actual life too. Some become caught in the cycle of habit, although most youths do no more than experimentation. Teenagers are more quickly impacted by medicines and alcohol, which can cause the development of dependency must quicker. Hence the link between addiction and adolescence.

Also, teens sometimes feel lost and misunderstood. Many experience feelings of deep unhappiness and melancholy. Most experience confusion as they start trying to get their way in life. This is frequently brought on by hormones and all of the changes that are happening at this stage in life. And this can lead teens to attempt to self medicate with alcohol and drugs, which again can lead to dependence.

Fortunately, there are a lot of efforts designed to raise consciousness about the risks of dependence, especially in the teenage years, in universities across the united states. There are also several personal and professional efforts to assist teens feel more stable and feel supported as they’re going through the changes they are experiencing. This may ideally assist them avoid a life-long issue with habit.
